Director of Spiritual Engagement
The Director of Spiritual Engagement is a vital role that leads MIST’s faith-centered programming beyond the MIST tournaments, with an emphasis on Islamic identity and values. The Director plans and executes organizer tarbiyah sessions, develops spiritually grounded leadership content, and integrates spiritual elements into tournament activities to reinforce MIST’s mission and maintain its religious foundation. The Director also builds relationships with Islamic institutions and speakers.

Key Responsibilities
Programming
Develop internal curricula for MIST organizers assessing the most beneficial topics
Coordinate and invite speakers for year-round spiritual enrichment and leadership sessions for different audiences (competitors, organizers, alumni, etc).
Oversee tarbiyah programming at the MIST Leadership Summit
Collaborate with the National Programs team to provide theme-related Islamic workshop examples for tournaments
External Partnerships
Build relationships with Islamic speakers and institutions
Establish partnerships that help streamline speaker selection for tournaments
Recruit and maintain a spiritual advisory board and act as the liaison for MIST and its advisors
Qualifications
Cannot hold a concurrent MIST organizing role (must step down if selected)
Excellent networking and written communications skills
Preferably well-connected with diverse Islamic speakers and institutions
Commitment to organizational stewardship, including supporting ELT peers and participating in broader strategic discussions beyond assigned responsibilities
Ability to dedicate 5 - 10 hrs/week
