Head of Alumni Relations
The Head of Alumni Relations is responsible for cultivating a lasting, engaged, and mutually beneficial relationship between MIST National and its vast network of alumni. This role is key to transforming former participants and organizers into lifelong advocates and contributors, leveraging their experience to support current programs and mentorship initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Alumni Network Management
Lead the management and growth of the official MIST Alumni Network, ensuring accurate and up-to-date alumni records and contact information.
Develop and maintain clear communication channels (e.g., newsletters, dedicated social groups) to keep alumni informed of MIST news, opportunities, and impact.
Engagement & Events
Coordinate and execute a calendar of alumni engagement activities and events, including professional networking sessions, social gatherings, and volunteer opportunities.
Strategically integrate alumni presence and participation into major MIST events, such as Regional and National tournaments, and the annual Leadership Summit.
Mentorship & Development
Develop, promote, and manage a structured alumni mentorship program that connects current high school participants and college-aged organizers with experienced MIST graduates.
Identify opportunities for alumni to lend professional skills, training, and institutional knowledge to current MIST teams and initiatives.
Qualifications
Proven experience in community management, volunteer coordination, alumni relations, or network development.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for building and maintaining relationships.
Strong organizational skills to manage concurrent events, engagement campaigns, and mentorship programs.
Familiarity with the MIST community structure, experience as a past participant or organizer is highly desirable.
Availability to commit 5-7 hours per week.
