MIST = Muslim Interscholastic Tournament
We inspire high school students to collaborate and compete, develop creative skills, and learn from professionals, while educating them about Islam and Muslims. MIST envisions a vibrant community of creativity, knowledge, and mutual respect. Our programming includes annual regional and national tournaments in more than a dozen regions across North America. Over 6,000 high school students competed in tournaments last year, with thousands of additional volunteers, judges, and coaches.

MIST provides a platform to help our participants develop confidence and professionalism by practicing presentation, public speaking, and problem solving skills.
Embrace Identity when Engaging the World
Our participants learn strategies to deal with stereotypes and prejudices against Islam and Muslims, and are given the inspiration to embrace their identity as they engage the world.

Every individual has a unique voice. Through our competitions, we strive to validate and motivate our participants to be successful, compassionate human beings.
Meet and Network with Peers Around the World
Participants with the opportunity to meet and network with diverse peers within their schools, their regions, and across the world, who share the same interests while building relationships.

Currents of Consequence: The Might of Small Deeds
The butterfly effect reminds us that the smallest actions, good or bad, can set off vast chains of events. A single word, a habit, or a choice that seems insignificant in the moment can ripple outward, shaping people, communities, and even history. Those ripples may flow gently in streams, or surge forward as floods, their final impact unknown. Yet over time, streams cut valleys, rivers carve canyons, and tides reshape entire coastlines. Do our actions have the same effect?
