People & Culture Compliance Coordinator
The P&C Compliance Coordinator is essential for maintaining the legal and ethical integrity of MIST workforce operations. This position is responsible for monitoring all human resources-related compliance activities, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and external regulations governing volunteer contracts, mandatory screenings, and essential training programs.
Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance Monitoring
Monitor and maintain compliance across all HR-related areas, including volunteer/organizer contracts, standard operating procedures, and organizational policies.
Ensure all National and Regional leadership roles adhere to requirements for background checks and necessary screening protocols.
Training and Documentation
Oversee the tracking and completion of mandatory training programs (e.g., safety, youth protection) for all team members and regional volunteers.
Maintain comprehensive, secure, and up-to-date documentation for all compliance records, contracts, and training completion status.
Risk Mitigation
Work closely with the Director of People & Culture to identify potential compliance gaps and develop proactive strategies to mitigate HR-related risks.
Assist in the continuous refinement of MIST's internal P&C policies to ensure they reflect current best practices and legal requirements.
Qualifications
Proven experience in human resources, compliance, risk management, or a related field. A professional HR background is highly preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills necessary for monitoring compliance across a large, remote volunteer base.
Understanding of best practices regarding employee/volunteer screening, contract management, and mandatory training requirements.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and integrity.
Availability to commit 3-6 hours per week.
