Competitions Material Coordinator

As a Material Coordinator, you will play a key part in shaping MIST's competitive events. Your work will involve crafting high-quality competition materials and ensuring a fair, engaging tournament experience. This role is perfect for someone who combines creativity with a keen sense of strategy and operational detail, aiming to make every MIST competition memorable and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rulebook Curation

    • Assist in curating the tournament rulebook, including reviewing drafts from the Nationals Competitions Director, identifying discrepancies, and implementing feedback.

  • Content Creation

    • Develop content for MIST Regionals and Nationals Tournament competitions, including bracket topics, extemp writing and oratory topics, improv games, and knowledge tests.

  • Relationship Management

    • Maintain consistent communication with Regional Competition Chairs/Managers and the Nationals Competitions Director.

    • Engage with regions to discuss competition changes and format options.

Qualifications

  • Experience in content creation, particularly in educational or competitive settings.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Previous experience serving on a MIST committee.

  • Familiarity with MIST programs and a strong understanding of competition rules and formats.

  • Availability to commit 3-5 hours per week
