Videographer

In this role, you will lead the creation of dynamic video content that captures the spirit, energy, and emotion of the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament. You will manage the entire video production lifecycle, producing high-quality content that engages our community and showcases the MIST experience on a national scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management

    • Manage videography projects from initial conception through to final completion, ensuring alignment with national media goals.

    • Collaborate with the Outreach & Marketing team to storyboard ideas and plan shoots for campaigns, events, and promotional initiatives.

  • Production & Technical Execution

    • Operate DSLR or mirrorless camera systems proficiently to capture high-quality footage.

    • Manage essential on-set technical elements, including lighting setups and audio recording, to ensure professional production values.

    • Utilize drone technology to capture aerial footage for large-scale events (preferred but not required).

  • Post-Production

    • Edit and assemble footage into polished final products using software such as DaVinci Resolve or CapCut.

    • Adapt video content for various platforms, ensuring formats are optimized for social media (Reels, TikTok) as well as long-form viewing.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in operating DSLR/mirrorless cameras, with a solid understanding of lighting and audio equipment.

  • Proficiency in video editing software, specifically DaVinci Resolve or CapCut.

  • Experience with drone operation is a strong plus.

  • A strong demo reel or portfolio demonstrating storytelling ability and technical skill.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment and meet production deadlines.

  • Availability to commit 3-5 hours per week (with potential for increased hours during peak tournament season).
